Our Story
A little note from Jess…
“Becoming a mother and step-mum has undoubtedly been the most transformative, fulfilling, and joyful experience of my life. However my journey to motherhood was not an easy one and I faced the trials and tribulations that many women know all too well. Having gone through multiple rounds of IVF, I finally welcomed my two little girls into the world. This experience highlighted to me that in the whirlwind of celebrating new life, the mother's own journey often goes unnoticed.
In a society that often prioritises the baby during gifting occasions, I realised that mamas also deserve to be celebrated. We go through so much—emotionally, physically, and mentally—and our achievements should be recognised, too. Mamacita Collective is a tribute to all the mums who, like me, have poured their hearts into their journey. It’s a celebration of every victory, big or small, and a reminder that in the midst of caring for their little ones, they too deserve to be cherished and celebrated.”
A little note from Olivia…
“It’s a privilege being someone’s everything but it can also be incredibly hard. There is nothing quite like the scrutiny surrounding decisions concerning the way you parent your child; from the way in which you choose to deliver your baby, your chosen parenting techniques or whether you breastfeed or bottle feed. When I fell pregnant with my son during the pandemic the pressure to meet high expectations – both from myself and society - was intense, leading to feelings of isolation and self-doubt. 3 years on and I am now a proud mum of two and a far cry from this person. I now understand that my journey into motherhood is all mine and, as long as I know that I am doing the best for my babies and that they are healthy and happy, that is all that really matters.
I wanted to create Mamacita Collective to shift the narrative and place the spotlight back on to the mothers, celebrating their sacrifices, struggles and bravery. Our gifts have been curated to uplift and boost confidence, all with a sprinkling of humour. Motherhood doesn’t always have to be so serious, so let’s strip it back to its core; an incredibly exciting and fulfilling adventure and one we can’t wait to be on with you!”
